Reflexion
by Lynette Fromme
You likely heard of the murders. This book is what happened before and after them along California’s beaches and bluffs, San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury, the redwoods, Topanga Canyon, Beverly Hills, the Santa Susana Mountains, and the outback of the Mojave Desert. It’s about the Charles Manson I perceived and a gathering of people like me preparing to survive either a revolution or the static institutions that were systematically
trading all of our vital necessities for money. — Lynette Fromme, 2018
“This is an outstanding book. There were many communes in the 1960s, yet this one was lead by an evil charismatic. Were the kids who killed simply “bad people” (Proscuter Vincent Bugliosi subscribed to this theory), or were they just like the thousands of other kids who lived in communes (subscribing to Harvard Psychologist Dr. Timothy Leary’s philosophy of “Turn on, tune in, drop out). Were they just typical kids that got in over their head without recognizing it? The term “cult” is usually defined as an organization that makes it difficult, if not impossible, to leave. Yet, the “members” of the “Manson Family” seemed to drift in and out of Spahn Ranch as they pleased. It forces those of us who were a part of the “hippie generation” as I was, to ask: Could I be brainwashed? Could I recognize when I have reached the tipping point? Lynette Fromme makes it very clear that none of these kids were searching for a “death cult.” How did some of them go over the edge of sanity?”

“Great book! Just so you know, it’s not about the Tate-Labianca murders of 1969 but it is more about Squeaky’s life with Manson in the 2 years from 1967 when Manson was released from prison, leading up to the murders in 1969. This is a very well written book and anyone with an interest in this group of people will enjoy it very much.”

This was a great book. This one and the 5th edition of “The Manson File” are the only ones I trust.
