Susan Atkins (aka Sadie Mae Glutz / Sexy Sadie) - As a teen, Susan sang in her church choir and nursed her mother, who was dying of cancer. After her mother's death, her life went seriously off course. Atkins was convicted for her participation in eight killings, including "Tate/LaBianca" murders. She was sentenced to death, which was commuted to life in prison. Incarcerated from October 1, 1969 until her death, Atkins was the longest-incarcerated female inmate in the California penal system, having been denied parole 18 times.

Leslie Van Houten (aka Lulu) - A psychiatrist, after evaluating Leslie Van Houten, described her as "a psychologically loaded gun which went off as a consequence of the complex intermeshing of highly unlikely and bizarre circumstances." Van Houten was sentenced to death for the murders of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca, but a year later all death penalties in the state were commuted to life imprisonment. Van Houten was denied parole 18 times.

Patricia Krenwinkel (aka Katie, Big Patty, Yellow, Marnie Reeves and Mary Ann Scott) - In September 1967, twenty-year-old Patricia Krenwinkel joined the Family, leaving behind her Manhattan Beach apartment, her car, her job, and even her last paycheck. Krenwinkel was a participant in both the Tate and LaBianca murders. Following the death of fellow Manson family member, Susan Atkins, Krenwinkel is now the longest-incarcerated female inmate in the California penal system, along with Leslie Van Houten being denied parole 12 times.

Charles Manson (aka Charles Milles Maddox, The Wizard, The Soul, The Messiah, Jesus Christ) - To this day Charles Manson professes his innocence. Manson sent his followers out on a mission to kill for him. Charles Manson was convicted on seven counts of first-degree murder for his role in the killings. This is despite the fact that he never actually murdered anyone himself during the family's killing spree. His convision was based on his influence and that he orchestrated his cult to murder. During the trial, obvious signs of Charles Manson's control over the family members was exhibited. At one point, Manson turned around and refused to face the judge. His followers, as well as his co-defendants did the same.

Charles Watson (aka Tex, Charles Tex Watson, Charles Denton "Tex" Watson) Tried Separately, one of Charles Watson's former neighbors in Collin County, Texas described him as "the boy next door." Watson was an "A" student in high school and a sports star. He held the state record in the low hurdles. According to his uncle, Watson's problems started when he began taking drugs in college. Watson's was a participant in both the Tate and LaBianca murders and was convicted of seven counts of first degree murder and one count conspiracy to commit murder.

Linda Kasabian, born in Biddeford, Maine on June 21, 1949, is a former member of Charles Manson's "family". She was the key witness in District Attorney Vincent Bugliosi's prosecution of Manson and his followers for the Tate-LaBianca murders. Kasabian eventually turned state’s evidence when she agreed to testify about what she saw and heard surrounding both the Tate and Labianca murders after Susan Atkins recanted her entire Grand Jury Testimony.

Bobby Beausoleil, born on November 6, 1947, is a former associate of Charles Manson's circle. Beausoleil is serving a life sentence in Oregon State Penitentiary for the July 1969 murder of Manson associate Gary Hinman. Beausoleil was very important to Manson. During the Tate/Labianca trials Catherine "Gypsy" Share testified that it was Linda Kasabian's idea to commit the murders to look like copy cat murders of the Gary Hinman killing to get Bobby Beausoleil free from prison.

Steven Dennis “Clem” Grogan, was born on July 13, 1951 in Los Angeles. Grogan, a musician, dropped out of high school and was involved in the Manson murders. Steven was a troubled child growing up and when his frustrated parents lost hope, they decided to drop him off at Spahn Ranch. The night of August 10, 1969 he rode with members of the Manson family; Tex Watson, Patricia Krenwinkel and Leslie Van Houten when they were dropped off at the house of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca.

Mary "Och" Brunner, born on December 17, 1943 in Wisconsin, is a former member of the Manson Family. Brunner acquired a number of aliases such as Marioche, Och, Mother Mary, Mary Manson, Linda Dee Manson, and Christine Marie Euchts. On August 21, 1971, Brunner, accompanied by Family member "Gypsy" and several male associates drove a white van to a Western Surplus Store. Once inside, the group brandished guns and ordered patrons and clerks on the ground, took 143 rifles and were captured after a store clerk tripped the silent alarm. According to officers, the group then debated whether to kill all of those in the store.

Bruce Davis, born in Monroe, Louisiana on October 5, 1942, was a member of Charles Manson’s cult and was convicted of taking part in at least two of the killings in 1969. Although Mr. Davis was not involved in the infamous murders of the actress Sharon Tate and six others in Los Angeles, he was convicted of helping kill associate Gary Hinman and later, Donald Shea, who lived and worked at Spahn Ranch. Davis grew up in Mobile, Alabama, and was the younger of two children.

Danny DeCarlo, born June 20, 1944, from Toronto Canada, was treasurer of the outlaw biker gang the Straight Satans. Danny, like Bobbie Beausuliel, stayed at the Spahn Ranch because of all the pretty girls, free sex and drugs. In 1966, he was convicted of smuggling Marijuana across the U.S./Mexican border. It is believed that Charles Manson wanted to align himself with the Straight Satans to keep the public away from the ranch, one of the main reasons Manson took a special interest in DeCarlo. However the Straight Satans didn’t like Charlie and wanted to get Danny out of Spahn and return to the club.
